Clark County, in partnership with Workforce Connections, presents the EMT Academy. The Clark County Basic EMT Academy is a comprehensive nine-week, no-cost training program designed to prepare participants for careers in emergency medical services. This intensive program combines classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and real-world preparation to ensure graduates are ready to serve as certified Emergency Medical Technicians in our community.

Our Basic EMT Academy follows a proven two-phase approach that builds foundational knowledge before diving into intensive EMT training:

Phase 1: Pre-Academy Bootcamp

A two-week intensive preparation period that covers essential foundational concepts and prepares students for the rigorous EMT training ahead.

Phase 2: EMT Academy Training

Seven weeks of comprehensive EMT certification training covering all aspects of emergency medical care, from patient assessment to life-saving interventions.

Completely Free Training

This program is fully funded through federal relief money with no cost to participants. Eligible students may also receive stipends and additional support services.

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the Basic EMT Academy, you must:

  • Be a Clark County resident
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have no felony convictions
  • Pass a background check
  • Meet physical and medical requirements for EMT certification
