LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Clark County is adding $70 million to expand affordable housing in the Las Vegas valley via two new rounds of funding.
The county announced that this year, its Welcome Home Community Housing Fund will allocate $50 million toward permanent affordable rental housing and another $20 million toward supportive housing developments.
“We know these developments do not come along quickly, but we are focused on permanent solutions for our region and these investments help us to achieve this goal,” Clark County Commission Chair Jim Gibson said in a statement.
More information will be released in the coming months on how to apply for funding, Gibson said.
County commissioners created Welcome Home last year to allocate up to $160 million to support developing and rehabilitating affordable housing units across Southern Nevada.
